Fractional CTO / CTO as a service
Fractional CTO Services
- Your product is growing.
- Developers are making decisions.
- Cloud costs are increasing.
- Features are taking longer than expected.
And you are not always sure whether the technical decisions being made today will become expensive problems six months from now.
01 / What it is
Your technical leadership team
A fractional CTO is a senior technology leader who works with your company part time. OpsVoid acts as that leader, with an engineering team behind it. We help you decide:
to build now, and what can wait.
to build it so it survives the next stage.
should build it: your team, a vendor, or us.
it reliable, secure and affordable as you grow.
02 / How it runs
A typical week
One leadership meeting a week with your engineers, and a senior person reachable in between. It can grow to more meetings as the product does.
- Mon

03 / Scope
What we handle
Technical strategy
A roadmap instead of endless technical discussions
We turn your business goals into clear priorities. What should be built now? What can wait? What needs fixing before you scale?
Now
- Fix the flaky deploy
- Backups you have restored once
Next
- Split the reporting jobs
- Hire a second backend engineer
Later
- Mobile app
- Multi-region
Architecture and infrastructure
We review your backend, database, APIs, cloud, deployments and security, then tell you what is working, what is risky and what should change.
Engineering leadership
Already have developers? We lead them: technical decisions, code reviews, sprint planning, engineering standards and delivery.
Hiring engineers
Hiring the wrong engineer can cost months. We define roles, review candidates and run the technical interviews.
Vendor and agency oversight
If an agency builds your product, we represent you technically, so you do not have to trust what you are told blindly.
Cloud and DevOps
Product rescue
Inherited a messy codebase? Months behind? Developers fixing the same bugs again? We audit the system, find the real problems and write the recovery plan.
04 / Is it right for you
Full-time CTO, fractional CTO or agency
Most companies we talk to are choosing between these three. The honest answer depends on your stage, not on what we sell.

05 / Who this is for
It works well for
Founders without a technical co-founder
You understand the business but need someone senior making technical decisions.
Growing startups
Your developers can build, but you need someone thinking about architecture, reliability, hiring and scale.
Companies managing outsourced developers
You need someone technical on your side of the table.
Businesses building internal software
You are investing heavily in software but do not need a permanent CTO yet.
06 / More than advice
Leadership backed by engineers who do the work
A lot of fractional CTOs stop at meetings, documents and recommendations. OpsVoid is an engineering company. If something needs to be designed, fixed, deployed, automated or built, our engineers can execute it.
The same people who lead the decisions write about the craft in depth: Python, Django, AWS and observability.

- Decide what should be built and what should not.
- Turn business goals into a technical roadmap.
- Review the product, codebase, cloud, security and architecture.
- Choose the right stack and infrastructure.
- Manage or guide internal developers and external vendors.
- Hire and interview engineers.
- Fix engineering process: Git, deployments, testing, environments, releases.
- Reduce cloud and software costs.
- Plan for scale before the product breaks.
- Handle technical due diligence for investors or acquisitions.
- Translate between the business team and the engineers.
- Recover projects that are late, unstable or poorly built.
- Create technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
- Make sure you are not dependent on one developer or one agency.

What clients say
Federal Government Advisors
“We engaged Sammy to replace a legacy ERP that was choking our proposal velocity. Six months in, OpsVoid had built an entirely new platform: capability statements that took three days now take twenty minutes, and our win rate moved with it.”

“The documentation was clean enough for our internal IT to take over the day he handed it off.”

08 / Who you work with
Your fractional CTO

Founder and CTO, OpsVoid
Sammy Chafiqui
Computer Science degree in the United States, then five years building production software as an engineer in California before founding OpsVoid.
I act as the technical officer of the companies I work with. I sit with your engineers on architecture, code review and process, unblock them when they are stuck, and make sure the way you build helps the product grow instead of slowing it down.
LinkedInLinkedIn recommendation
“He writes decision records so the next engineer understands why, not just how. He mentors mid-level engineers on the hard problems, reviews PRs with an eye toward surviving the next audit cycle, and maintains a living inventory of technical debt articulated in business terms leadership can act on.”
“Sammy walked into a room full of infrastructure, security, compliance, and business stakeholders and translated between all of them with a clarity and calm that defused the tension entirely.”

10 / Questions
Straight answers
What is a fractional CTO?
A senior technology leader who works with your company part time. You get the judgment of a chief technology officer on architecture, hiring, vendors and costs, without hiring one full time.
What does a fractional CTO do each week?
Usually one leadership meeting a week with your engineers covering architecture, code review and process, plus email and Slack threads in between. When an engineer is blocked, they get an answer without waiting for the next meeting. As the product grows, the meetings can grow with it.
Is CTO as a service the same thing?
Yes. Fractional CTO and CTO as a service describe the same arrangement: senior technical leadership on a part-time, ongoing basis.
Can you lead our existing developers or an outside agency?
Yes. We run technical decisions, code reviews, architecture, sprint planning and standards with your team. If an agency builds your product, we represent you: we review their estimates, architecture, code quality and delivery.
Can your team build what you recommend?
Yes. OpsVoid is an engineering company, so if something needs to be designed, fixed, deployed, automated or built, our engineers can execute it. You are never obliged to use us for the build.
Can you help with technical due diligence?
Yes. We review the product, codebase, infrastructure and team for investors or acquisitions, and explain the risks in plain language.
What happens when we are ready for a full-time CTO?
We help you define the role, interview candidates and hand over the roadmap, the architecture and the documentation, so the new hire starts with context instead of guesswork.
How much does a fractional CTO cost?
From $2,499 a month. That covers one weekly leadership meeting, async support between meetings, and unblocking your engineers when they are stuck. More meetings or hands-on engineering from our team are scoped on the first call.
Need someone technical on your side?
Tell us what you are building, where the project is stuck and what your current team looks like. We will help you figure out the next technical move.
